H.E.A.T. Lesson Reflection
Thinking back, I feel this lesson was very successful. The students enjoyed the task given and were excited to see what path they might be taking in the future.
I will say, this lesson was difficult for many of our lower performing students and giving them the steering wheel to just go with it is unrealistic. There were several students that needed step-by-step prompting.
I would be excited to do this lesson with older students.

H.E.A.T. Lesson Plan
Objective: TLW be able to determine which college they should attend to prepare them for their career and make an image to portray that.
Description: TLW will choose a career path, research what college is the best to prepare them for that career path and use a source of technology to communicate it all.
Higher Order Thinking: 3 Student learning/questioning at understanding level
Students learn that they must get training for whatever career path they want to take.
Engaged Learning: 1 Students report what they have learned only.
Students record and report what they researched.
Authentic Connections: 6 The learning experience is directly relevant to students and involves creating a product that has a purpose beyond the classroom that directly impacts the students.
The student chooses a career path and determines what college would be best to prepare them for it.
Technology Use: 6 Students use self-selected digital resources to accomplish learning outcomes beyond conventional strategies.
Students choose from a variety of technology resources to communicate what career path they want to take and what college to go to that will prepare them for it.

H.E.A.T. Lesson Description
Christmas Around the World
H - Students will research, analyze, compare and contrast how our own traditions differ from other countries around the world.
E - Students will collaborate with an individual from the country we are studying to learn how our traditions are different that theirs.
A - Students will be knowledgeable and accepting of the way others celebrate Christmas.
T - Students will create a video or cartoon depicting Christmas in another country.
